Gather and analyse organic data from member countries and produce a periodical updated report on organic key facts and figures in the Mediterranean Region, with special country/thematic focuses upon availability of relevant information,
Disseminate updated organic statistics and trends through CIHEAM communication tools, and in collaboration with partner organisations, on global platforms and in international events,
Run capacity building (training) initiatives (like summer/winter schools or similar schemes) on topics of specific interest for the member countries in the field of organic regulation, policy, international trade and domestic market,
Contribute to and benefit from the Master course on Mediterranean Organic Agriculture run by CIHEAM Bari,
Carry out research work on topics of specific interest for the member countries in the field of organic regulation, policy, international trade and domestic market; other relevant topics may be considered. The research work to be mostly developed in the framework of CIHEAM Bari’s regular training and research programmes and in close cooperation with interested Country Representatives,
Compile and update the MOAN roster of experts and institutions in organic legislation, policy, international trade and domestic market on the basis of national lists produced and regularly updated by Country Representatives,
Organise MOAN annual meetings by providing technical, financial and logistic support to the host country and the Chairman. MOAN Secretariat will closely work with and assist the host country representative in defining the meeting agenda, location and all related issues,
Manage the MOAN’s website by regularly updating its contents to include relevant materials associated to the Network’s activities
Give visibility to the Network’s activities and achievements through participation in national, regional and international research and cooperation activities on organic agriculture in the Mediterranean Region,
Promote Mediterranean Organic Agriculture in international workshops and conferences.
